For the past eight years, we have been mentors for a student who earned a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude and will soon be released after serving a mandatory minimum sentence of fifteen years. It has been a long and eye-opening journey with wonderful moments of insight, delight, and appreciation along with plenty of… discouragement and anger at the injustices and inhumanity of our systems and society… We are grateful to Partakers for encouraging us to undertake this experience with one very determined young man.
